The one week memorial celebration of popular actor Prince Yawson known as Waakye has been held at the Accra Tourism Information Center on Friday, August 26, 2022.
The actor who became known for his role in “Obra” which was one of the most watched drama shows on Sunday evenings on Ghana Television (GTV) brought smiles to many homes with his character role and name “Waakye”.
The event attracted personalities from all walks of life to include Veteran Thespians Grace Omaboe popularly known as Maame Dokono, David Dontoh, Adwoa Smart and members from the Obra Drama group.
However the Veteran Actress Grace Omaboe (Maame Dokono) who worked with the actor in the popular Akan drama series “Obra” has made revelations which has received reactions with people sharing their own stories/ordeal.
In a viral video circulating on social media which has received massive reactions, Maame Dokono at the One Week Memorial narrates how the popular actor was in a taxi for 4 hours looking for a bed at 37 Military Hospital.
This was after he had been taken to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and Ridge Hospital and the quest to find a bed for him to be treated had proved futile.
After finally being admitted at 37 Military Hospital, Maame Dokono revealed that, according to the wife of the actor, she wanted to stay by the bed side of her husband who reportedly suffered from Stroke. However she wasn’t allowed and upon her return the following morning, the actor had a cut on his face alleging he might have fallen from his bed and had struggled.

Waakye died earlier this month on August 2nd, 2022 at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
