Kwame Asare Obeng popularly known as A Plus has expressed his profound doubt about the lion story making waves.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page, A Plus wrote;
“How can you tell me this story?
Leave it to the police to investigate and come out with their findings. What if he was killed and thrown in there?”
According to A Plus, he finds it difficult to understand how Gyata (lion) had food and left it to go and wait for another food from it’s keeper.
He remarked that one cannot conclude that because a deceased person was found in a lions cage, he/she was killed by a lion. That is extremely pedestrian; finding a dead body afloat doesn’t always mean the victim drowned.
There must be an autopsy to find out if there is water in the lungs to prove whether the victim was breathing (alive) at the time he/she was in the water or died before he/she was thrown in the water to conceal evidence.
He said that the same must be applied in this very case. A Plus therefore called for a proper investigation into this matter.
Background
Yesterday, around 12:00pm, residents around GIMPA and Achimota forest area where thrown into panic as a false story of an escaped lion was seen on social media. Later police confirmed that no lion has escaped.
According the Police, an intruder between age 30s jumped into the lion cage at Achimota forest to steal a lion cub. Unfortunately he was mauled by the lion and was dead when the security guards arrived.
Reactions
People have expressed their views on A Plus post.
“Such animals are territorial and will attack you when u are in their territory. They don’t always kill for food, they do that sometimes to to protect their territory.” A user wrote.
“Indeed this matter needs to be investigated thoroughly. There is something fishy about the story. How did this person get access to that place without anyone’s knowledge? What if he was killed and thrown in there like the man is saying, the lion didn’t even bite him.” Another user added.
Another user wrote;
“I suspect he was killed and dump there. I have been to the place before and it not possible for one to climb the fence.”
