Actor and entertainer Akwesi Boadi popularly known as Akrobeto has said he hasn’t paid for rent in Accra after forty three years of arriving.
In an interview, Akrobeto said his personality of being humble has given him opportunities he never dreamt of coming and counts himself blessed.
From a poor background, the television personality said his journey to Accra was not decided but with the help from Apostle Kwadwo Safo he has stayed in Accra has been smooth.
“I’ve lived in Accra for 43 years now, no rent. The secret is from my father Apostle Kwadwo Safo,” he said.
According to Akrobeto, he had lived with Apostle Kwadwo Safo for a very long time and in return, nothing was taken or he wasn’t charged a dime.
The entertainer added that even after years of living with Engineer Kwadwo Safo, and living on his own, he was never charged or asked to pay for his rent.
“I didn’t have anything of my own. My family was very poor. When I completed Form 4 in the year 1979, Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo sent someone to come for me from my village to stay with him in Accra. And I stayed with him for a very long time without paying a dime because of my humility and honesty”.
“Even in times when I moved out, anytime, I pay rent, strangely, the landlords either return my money or refuse to accept it,” he stated.
Much is not known about Akrobeto’s life because he keeps his life private from the public’s eye and he currently hosts a show on United Television.
