Meet The Church Of Pentecost Pastor Enstooled As Development Chief At Abrem Agona In Ghana

The chief of Abrem Agona and the Acting Paramount Chief of Abrem Traditional Area in the Central Region of Ghana, Nana Tekpor V enstooled Pastor George Ofori as the development chief of Abrem Agona on Sunday 14th August, 2022 on the occasion of a historical farewell service held in his honour at the Central church building officiated by the Central Regional Coordinator and the Cape Coast Area Head, Apostle Samuel Yaw Antwi.

Pastor George Ofori who is on transfer to the Madagascar as the National Head of the Church of Pentecost is the first Pastor of the Church of Pentecost to be enstooled as development chief or Nkoso Hene in Ghana. His stool name is now Pastor Nana Ofori I. The whole ceremony was Pentecostally performed to the glory of God.

Stating the rationals behind the historic enstoolment, Nana Tekpor V said that the Traditional Area has seen a tremendous rise in infrastructure such as the building of an ultra-modern Police Station for the people of Abrem and its environs by the Church of Pentecost. The Police Station is one of its kind and has been adopted by the Ghana Police Service as a stereotype for the building of Modern Police Stations in Ghana.

Pastor George Ofori single handedly led the church members to mobilize resources for the start to the completion of the Police Station. Also, Pastor George Ofori has led the people of Abrem Agona to mobilize resources to start the building of a six apartment quarters for the police staff. The building is now at the window level.

During his tenure, Pastor George Ofori led the elders and the people of Abrem Agona to review the traditional festival to take away all rituals meant for the gods. For instance, the ‘AYE’ festival which for the past years was meant for sacrificing animals and performing other rituals for the lesser gods has been renamed “love festival.” Taking its biblical basis from John 3:16, the festival now seeks to unite the people to bring development and also for showing love as emulated by our Lord Jesus Christ. It will be climaxed with an interdenominational Church service involving the whole community.

God has used Pastor George Ofori to strengthen the relationship between the community and the Church. He did this together with the Council of Christian Churches at Abrem Agona. One can boldly say that, the entire community has been possessed by God through the Church of Pentecost.

Ending his message, Nana Tekpor V expressed his mix-feelings as Pastor George Ofori now Pastor Nana Ofori I proceeds on transfer to Madagascar as the National Head. He said, he is sad because his decision-taking partner was leaving him, but also happy because God is going to use Pastor Nana Ofori I to do more good works at his new station in another nation.

He added that, Pastor Nana Ofori I is now a member of the royal family of Abrem Agona and has been paying his dues and other commitments. Nana Tekpor V thanked God and also urged Pastor Nana Ofori I (Pastor George Ofori) to remain part of the community and its development. To seal this, the Traditional Council donated a 100ft by 100ft plot to Pastor Nana Ofori I and his family.

Apostle Samuel Yaw Antwi led the chiefs and the congregation to thank God and also prayed for God’s protection and development for the people of Abrem Traditional Area.

In attendance at the ceremony were the wife of the Area Apostle Mrs. Margaret Serwaa Antwi, some ministers of the Church of Pentecost and other churches, Nana Tekpor V, Queen mother of Abrem Agona, all chiefs and family heads or ‘’ebusuapayinfo’’ of Abrem Traditional Area, Assembly members, Educational officers from KEEA, and others.
