Mr. Kwasi Kwarteng, a member of the United Kingdom (UK) Parliament, has been predicted by Mr. Gabby Otchere-Darko, a former executive director of the Danquah Institute, to become prime minister of the UK. Mr. Kwarteng, also known as Akwasi Addo Alfred Kwarteng, is a British politician who has been the UK’s Secretary of State for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy since 2021.
Following Suella Braverman’s departure on November 16, 2018, Kwarteng was named Under-Secretary of State at the Department for Exiting the European Union. Kwarteng was elevated to the position of Minister of State for Business, Energy, and Clean Growth in July 2019 after Boris Johnson was chosen as the new prime minister.
This role included attending cabinet meetings. Kwarteng, the sole child of Alfred K. Kwarteng and Charlotte Boaitey-Kwarteng, who had left Ghana as students in the 1960s, was born in the London Borough of Waltham Forest in 1975.
Mr Otchere-Darko also happens to be a leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), he tweeted saying; “Watch out for @KwasiKwarteng I tip him to be UK PM before turn of the decade.\s“ Super smart (intellectually even if his dress style ain’t), principled, disciplined, loyal, confident, humble, highly competent, affable & fiercely patriotic. If you know his mother you’ll understand!”
