Famous Ghanaian actor, comedian, and TV presenter Akwasi Boadi popularly known in the show business as Akrobeto has lived in Accra for 43 years without paying rent.
The populace after hearing the news has become dumbfounded, questioning how someone has been able to live in Accra for more than 4 decades without paying a dime as rent despite the capital being ranked among the most expensive cities to stay in Africa.
Revealing the secret to what many find difficult to believe in, the comic actor stated emphatically that he earned such stride through humility and honesty.
According to the host of ” The Real News”, he was relocated from his village to Accra by popular Ghanaian engineer Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo in 1979 after he had completed his form 4.
He said he stayed with the man of God who is a great inspiration and source of wisdom to him in his house for years without paying a dime until he gathered enough money to rent an apartment of his own.
He revealed that the landlord of the house he went to rent also refused to accept a dime from him as rent, rendering him a rent-free stay.
“I didn’t have anything of my own. My family was very poor. When I completed Form 4 in the year 1979, Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo sent someone to come for me from my village to stay with him in Accra. Andl stayed with him for a very long time without paying a dime because of my humility and honesty. Even in times when I moved out, anytime, I pay rent, strangely, the landlords either return my money or refuse to accept it” Akrobeto explained in an exclusive interview with Precise FM.
