Defending champions of the Ghana Premier League Asante Kotoko have lost heavily to Sudanese giants Al Hilal. The porcupine warriors lost by five unanswered goals to Al Hilal in a preseason encounter in Sudan today.
Following the defeat, should Asante Kotoko sack their head coach. Asante Kotoko, after leaving Ghana for Sudan, have conceded seven goals. Prior to the latest defeat, Asante Kotoko had conceded two goals against the same side few days ago.
Asante Kotoko commenced preseason in Ghana under the tutelage of coach Abdulai Gazali. He led the team open offseason activities in Accra before jetting off to Sudan.
It was in the course of preparations that Asante Kotoko announced the appointment of new head coach Zerbo. The latest defeat cannot warrant his sacking. He has just taken over the club as reports indicate that he has given Abdulai Gazali the opportunity to train the players.
Again, losing heavily in off-season games comes as a good step in revealing loopholes that are within the team. Preseason matches would aid technical members identify what ought to be done ahead of the main season.
The seven goals conceded could only come as a good score line for the Kumasi-based club as the new coach would be assessing his squad to rectify any leakages.
