With barely two weeks to the start of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League, GPL campaign, the clubs have intensified their pre-season rituals to be in shape for the competition.
The 18 clubs have been engaging in friendly matches against quality opposition to build up for the season ahead.
Here’s a selection of some of the matches played recently.
Bibiani Gold Stars
The Miners have won their last two friendlies as they build for the campaign ahead.
Gold Stars beat former Elite Division campaigners Elmina Sharks 1-0 on Wednesday at Elmina and, had earlier beaten Central regional second division sides Ajax FC and AY United 2-0 respectively to remain unbeaten in their pre-season games.
Gold Stars will next play fellow top-flight campaigners King Faisal Babes later today, (Saturday) at Mankessim.
King Faisal Babes
The Kumasi-based club have been in camp in the Central region for two weeks now, and they have been engaging in some matches.
King Faisal beat Kenpong Academy 3-2 at Mankessim with former Accra Hearts of Oak striker Abednego Tetteh on target for his new club.
They will round up their preparations in the Central region with a game today against Bibiani Gold Stars also in Mankessim.
Accra Hearts of Oak
The Phobians have so far played three friendly matches the latest of which was against DOL Zone Three side Uncle T United which ended 1-1 in Accra on Friday.
They are due to play a couple more games next week to round up their preparations for the new season.
Dreams FC
The Dawu-based side played two matches on Saturday morning at the Astro Turf at East Legon in Accra.
In the first game, Dreams FC drew goalless with DOL Zone Three side Tudu Mighty Jets before beating Division Two side Panthers FC 3-1 in the second game.
The rest of the opposition are all being busy with the start of the new campaign set to kick-off on Friday, September 9, 2022.
