When Those We Like Are Corrupt, It Doesn’t Feel As Bad As When Those We Don’t Like Are Corrupt

Raymond Ablorh, a journalist and a former Manager at Airtel Ghana has asserted that when those we like are corrupt, it doesn’t feel as bad as when those we don’t like are corrupt. He believes that the above is partly the reason the corruption enterprise is thriving.

In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, 26th August 2022, he added that our people choose when to hate and fight corruption vigorously and when not to.

“Some who are today very worried about corruption, not too long ago, were quiet or defending and explaining away issues.

Raymond remarked that others who today are quiet or discounting corruption issues and defending people caught in corruption ridden scandals were, not long ago, the anti-corruption champions before the 2016 elections.” He added.

It’s in our collective interest that those we elect as our leaders and duty bearers be constantly checked and held accountable dispassionately. He remarked.

“They’re our servants and employees, not our lords. That we must make very clear to them and their supporters and bootlickers anytime they forget themselves and start misbehaving.”

And, at all times, not sometimes, regardless of who is involved or not involved, we must fight for the collective good which, ensures our collective preservation and development as a people. Until we reason beyond parties and personalities, we can’t save ourselves. He advised.

According to Raymond Ablorh, those parties and personalities some people care about so much, don’t actually care more about their own grassroot members and supporters than they do about their dogs at home.Otherwise, our communities and people wouldn’t be in this sorrowful state.
