A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Ghana with its international headquarters in Sweden, Give To Life Charity Organization has said vocational and skills training is the key to reduce unemployment among the youth in every society.
It is also a factor that help reduce poverty and raise the living standards of of people, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of the outfit, Madam Dorcas Dadzie has disclosed.
Madam Dadzie called on the government and other stakeholders to come together and focus on providing an enabling environment for the youth to learn handiwork that could empower them economically to succeed in life.
Archieving successful life through skills training, she said enhances the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Madam Dorcas Dadzie made the disclosure at Brekusu and its environs in the Eastern Region when the enrolled teenage mothers into various vocational skills training.
They were also provided with all the learning materials needed for the training.
Madam Dorcas Dadzie indicated that her outfit and its partners have over the years enrolled number of teenage mothers in various communities in Ghana into various vocational skills training towards job creation to earn their living.
She called for support to scale up the project to benefit many vulnerable girls to help reduce unemployment and poverty in Ghana.
At the program, she also advised parents not to abandon their teenage girls who dropped out from schools because of their pregnancy.
 Instead such school teenage drop outs should be encouraged to learn a trade to earn their living, Lady Dorcas advised.
The CEO indicated that through encouragement, would provide economic independence for their wards and help them make up for missing out on formal education.
Present at the program was Mr Ani Maria who is the Patron of the NGO living in Sweden.
