One of the star performances in the National Division One League, (DOL), last season Raymond Asante has joined Italian Seria A side Udinese Calcio on a long term deal.
The Italian side, has taken to their media channels in announcing the capture of the exciting young forward who was a delight to watch in the DOL last season.
Asante, 18, played for DOL Zone One side Young Apostles of Sunyani, helping the club to a top six finish as they missed out on promotion to the top-flight league narrowly.
He scored six goals and provided six assists during the campaign of 2021/22, and, he caught the eyes of several suitors in Ghana and beyond.
Udinese Calcio has won the fight for his signature and, he is expected to be developed within their famous youth system that also took in former Ghana international’s Sulley Ali Muntari, Asamoah Gyan, Kwadwo Asamoah and Emmanuel Agyeman Badu among others.
Asante, has signed a five-year deal with the Italian Seria A side and, it is expected that he will develop into an even better figure going forward.
He certainly is one for the future, and, he could come in hand for Ghana at international level going forward.
