UEFA Team Of The Year: Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo And Neymar Dropped As Benzema Leads Attack

UEFA, organizers of UEFA Champions League, have named the team for 2021/22 season. The team of the year, puts together individual players who excelled for their clubs, in last season’s UEFA Champions League. Last season’s UEFA Champions League final was contested between Real Madrid and Liverpool, with the former clinching the ultimate. It is as a result of hard work from players of these two teams that they dominate the list.

The team of the year comes in a form of 4 – 3 – 3 formation.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibau Courtois was named as the first choice in that list. He comes ahead of Liverpool goalkeeper as his side emerged the champions.

The defense is made up of Alexander Arnold, Andy Roberson, Van Dijk and Antonio Rudiger. Van Dijk and Antonio Rudiger play as the central defenders.

The midfield consists of Fabinho, Kevin De Bruyne and Luca Modric. Fabinho will play as the holding man while the two will move forward.

The attack is made up of three players, which include, Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe. Vinicius Junior and Mbappe will play wide while Karim Benzema stands in the middle as the main striker.

With this official line up for UEFA, Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar have all been dropped.
