Justice Abeeku Newton-offei, a worker at the Office of the President who doubles as a columnist for Modern Ghana has asserted that, it is clear that the Ghanaian media is bent on ensuring that NPP lose power in 2024.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page he wrote;
“Massive rounds of sub-machine guns and AK-47 riffles were fired, and properties ransacked by some NDC members at their Northern Regional Party office but the media has turned both deaf ears and blind eyes.”
He argued that had it been NPP, it would’ve captured the headlines for weeks, and self-styled security experts like Richard Kumado, Adam Bonaah etc would’ve bothered our ears with their halitosis-induced cacophony.
“It’s clear the Ghanaian media is bent on ensuring NPP is comprehensively defeated at the polls in 2024; reason the new national executives must fashion-out an effective counter communication strategy.”
Background
The comments of Justice Abeeku Newton-offei comes as a background to the shooting incidence that occurred at NDC office in Northern Region. Their action is to protest of a decision to let one of the party’s Vice Chairmen, Mr. Ali Adolf act as Regional Chairman.
The party’s leadership in the Region took a decision that Mr. Adolf acts in the interim following the death of the party’s Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Mobila.But this did not go down well with youth of the party in the region.Â
