Kwasi Kyei Darkwah is probably the man of the moment. Ever since his interview with Kafui Dey last week, the former media brands manager and broadcaster has been receiving raving reviews. He has honored invitations to TV3 and then Captain Smart’s Onua Maakye. Today, Wednesday, August 24, 2022, KKD was in the studios of Joy News for the AM Show.
KKD entered the studio dressed in black and gave out some gifts to the host. According to KKD after his recent commentaries he has received so many calls threatening him. At one point he said his father called him and told him that some people in high places want to kill him. KKD however mentioned that he will continue to speak for the truth and though he is scared he will not relent in speaking the truth.
The host questioned KKD if Akufo-Addo and Bawumia have been honest with Ghanaians. According to KKD he wants the host to play the video of what Akufo-Addo told Ghanaians at his inauguration. Apparently, Benjamin Akakpo and his team were caught by surprise as they didn’t have that video at hand.
KKD insisted that he won’t answer the question of whether Akufo-Addo has been honest until the video of what Akufo-Addo told Ghanaians. KKD even went the extra mile to forward that video to the Joy News media team. KKD called on the host to ask other questions until the video is played before he will address the question on Akufo-Addo. When the video was finally played, KKD said Akufo-Addo promised to protect the public purse as well as providing fair rules for all Ghanaians but has failed.
KKD also noted that the president promised that those seeking to enrich themselves in his government will not succeed. However, KKD said the president has failed to act and hasn’t been honest to Ghanaians. These latest comments are sure to spark more controversy. For now, KKD may be trending but some of his comments have dire implications. As bold as KKD has been so far, many feel he is being too harsh. But who are we to blame him?
