The first gentleman of the land and commander in chief of the Ghana Armed Forces is the President and as enshrined in the 1992 Constitution has the absolute powers to appoint proficient individuals to form the Council Of State.
It was solely established as an institution to advise the President on the day-to-day running of the country and provide proper guidance to the presidency. This noble institution is very powerful and effective for the country.
However, the same constitution specifies that the counseling of the members is not binding on the President. In other words, the President can choose to accept or reject whatever proposals or suggestions they give.

Today, he stormed the studio of Joynews Tv to expatiate on issues bothering him as a Patriot. The whole interview session was moderated by Benjamin Akakpo who did well by asking relevant questions. KKD entreated the host to read the constitution and tell him what exactly the councilor State does.
According to him, they are purposeless since the president is not obliged to adhere to their advice.
