The CEO Of Mineral’s Commission Lied: Lawyer Edudzi Kudzo Tamaklo Exposes

Chief executive officer of Minerals Commission, Martin .K. Ayisi by press release dated 17TH August 2022 denied the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Samuel A. Jinapor has granted prospecting licenses to some companies to prospect for minerals in forest reserves.

Attached is a letter dated 20th May 2022 from the Forestry Commission acknowledging the payment of the Forest Entry Permit fee of four hundred thousand Ghana cedis

(GH€ 400,000.00) from Koantwi Company Limited to undertake mining within Anhwiaso East forest reserve (Merewa Portion) in Bibiani forest district in the Western North Region.

The forest commission by the same letter equally acknowledged some documents attached by Koantwi Company Limited which included; a mining lease from the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, an environmental permit from EPA, and an operating permit from the Minerals Commission.

Now, this begs the question; when did the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources grant Koantwi Company Limited the mining lease? Your guess is just as good as mine.

At the point where our forest reserves are being depleted it appears that while our Minister is publicly suspending mining licenses, he is secretly granting the same to his “favorites”.

This must not be tolerated in any capacity whatsoever, the canker and intentional rot in the country must be addressed and willingly crashed from its source roots.
