Dr Bawumia Exposed For Claiming That Naa Mahamadu Abdullai Provided A Ram For His Naming Ceremony

Journalist and former Communications Manager at Airtel Ghana has exposed Vice President Dr Muhamadu Bawumia for his comment that, the late Ya Naa Mahamadu Abdulai IV was the one who provided the ram for his naming ceremony when he was born.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia said Naa Mahamadu (father of the later Mion Lana Abdulai) provided a ram to his father, Alhajj Mumuni Bawumia for his (Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s) naming ceremony. This was disclosed at the 3rd day Islamic Adu’a (Ceremony) of the late Mion lana Mahamadu Abdulai III on Sunday (August 21, 2022) at Sambu, the capital of the Mion traditional area.

Analysis On Dr. Bawumia’s Claim

According to Raymond Ablorh he Dr Bawumia’s claims that Naa Abdulai Mahamadu of Dagbon provided a ram for his outdooring (Sunna) is a lie.

He argued that;

The late Naa Abdulai Mohamadu was born in 1948 and Dr Muhamadu Bawumia was born in 1963.

Meaning Naa Abdulai Mahamadu would be 74 were he alive and Bawumia 59 years old now. The age difference between the two is 15 years old.

“So, is Bawumia telling the people of Dagbon and all Ghanaians that the Naa Mahamadu Abdulai at the age of 15 years provided the ram for his ceremony (Sunna)? ” He asked.

Isn’t it wonderful for a year 1 student and a 14year old then to have afforded a ram and even dashed it out to a friend to name a child.Or perhaps, he could be using a “football age”

He added that when Dr Bawumia sadly became an orphan and was searching for a foster parent, he didn’t go to the family that provided a ram for his Sunna, he went to Ashanti to search for a father for political reasons.

“I won’t be surprised if he goes to tell my people at Teshie during the Homowo celebration that it’s he who brought their ancestors corn from the North to cook the first kpokpoi (kpekple).” He teased.

Other people on social media also argued that, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia must issue a disclaimer to protect his long lost credibility at least, for a bit.

“It’s really sad to see the Vice President rushing and jumping onto everything he sees possible to boast his political fortunes. In fact, if there could be anything great to please Ghanaians, then, that should be restoration of the cedi’s value and finding solutions to the economic mess he spearheaded.” A user said.
