Kwadwo Damoah is currently the Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). He was appointed Acting Commissioner on 30th May, 2019 and subsequently confirmed on 19th May, 2020.
Prior to his appointment as Commissioner, he had been a Board Member of the Ghana Revenue Authority since May 2017. He was appointed a Technical Advisor to the Commissioner General from October 2017 to June 2019.Â
He was a lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Business Department of the Zenith University College in Accra between 2010 and 2018. From 2005 to 2009, he worked at the Directorate of Manpower Planning (DMP) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), General Headquarters–Burma Camp, Accra, and was in charge of recruitment and enlistment of personnel.
He served also as the President of the Pensions Assessment Board and Executive Secretary for the Honours and Awards Committee of the GAF. At the GAF Command and Staff College at Teshie in Accra, where he served from 2002 to 2005, he became the Financial Controller and represented the Command and Staff College on the Defence Budget Committee. He was the Financial Advisor to the Commandant of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College. He was also the Service Financial Comptroller at the Ghana Army Headquarters from 1996 to 2002.
Earlier in 2002, Col Damoah had a stint at the Office of the Defence Financial Comptroller of the Ghana Armed Forces at the General Headquarters. From 1985 to 1986, he served at the Airborne Force in Tamale as a Platoon Commander, where, amongst other things, he was commanding a platoon for Internal Security Operations in Bawku and its environs.
The Labianca scandal trended some months ago after a special prosecutor had Kwadwo Damoah exposed over some an alleged thievery.
Meanwhile, this is very shocking as the Custom Boss gets exposed again.
