Ghana and her economy is beyond the status of a child suffering from kwashiorkor. The country is simply dead and as expected of dead and decomposing organisms, the country which prides itself as the beacon of democracy is stinking, according to the revered radio presenter Blakk Rasta.
On Monday, 22 August 2022, the outspoken musician took his time to perform both a postmodern and if you like, a sound diagnosis on the West African country whose economic indicators have taken a dangerous nosedive and had been on a rather regrettable path of downward spiral.
Speaking to the thousands of his ever loyal audience across the four corners of planet Earth, through Class 91.3 FM, the verbose activist contended that his beloved country, unlike a thin-pale-looking child, caught up in the mighty claws of malnutrition, begging for the much needed nutrition to return to normalcy, no amount of intervention by “mere mortals” can change the status of Ghana, the 65 year old “child” currently under the care of His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his New Patriotic Party (NPP).
At least not from the very people who have led the this child to the slaughter house, for her untimely but brutal execution, on the alter of poor economic management, corruption, excessive borrowing, among others.
Nonetheless, there is a savior. Speaking with a conspicuous clarity and confidence, with a touch of sarcasm at its best, the host of the popular Taxi Driver show suggested that the only person capable of resurrecting the dead country is Jesus Christ. Jesus? Yes!
After all, did he [Jesus Christ] not resurrect Lazarus when all hope was lost centuries ago?
Clearly, just like millions of concerned Ghanaians, who are the victims of the excruciating economic conditions, Blakk Rasta obviously does not believe in the infamous declaration by Mr Akufo-Addo, “we know how to bring the economy back to live. What we do not know is how to bring back people to live”.
