FixTheCountry convener, Oliver Barker Vormawor has dropped some revelations about some group of workers in the country known as the ‘Article 71’ Office Holders.
In his recent post on Facebook, Oliver Barker revealed that the average salary level of these workers was more than ¢8,000 per month. He continued and revealed that this amount has been increased by more than 100%. That is from ¢8,000 as average salary in 2010 to the new and current amount of ¢18,000.
Oliver Barker described these group of workers as the main enemy for the country. This is because the level of income they get is more 100 times bigger than what an average Ghanaian worker takes as salary after working in a public sector.
Oliver Barker Vormawor has therefore requested for information on the salaries, allowances, facilities and privileges of the following presidential staff who are also part of the article 71 officer holders. They include; Mr. Eugene Arhin in his role as Director of Communication at the Office of the President, Rev. Ebenezer Saaka Ameyaw for his role as Church Relations Manager, Nana K. Ellis for his role as a person responsible for Diaspora Church Mobilization and Jake Obeng-Bediako for his role as Youth Ambassador for Diaspora Affairs.

One of the key problems of the country can put on these office holders. They are usually government officials who work at various ministerial places, parliament and at the office of the president. Aside their regular salary, they also receive other benefits allowances and freebies.
A lot of Ghanaians believe that the kind of salary structure in the country is not fair. This is because there are workers who work harder than these Article 71 office holders yet they receive less income without any additional allowances. Aside these benefits, they are given Ex-gratia at the end of their term in office.
