Champion club Asante Kotoko has cancelled their planned pre-season training tour of Turkey due to what they termed, delays in the acquisition of visas for the journey.
The Porcupines have instead, announced a trip to Sudan to continue with the second phase of their pre-season rituals ahead of the start of the new season.
Asante Kotoko has been training in Accra for sometime now as they seek to get themselves prepared and ready for the 2022/23 Ghana football season.
According to a statement posted on their media channels, the trip to Sudan will begin today, (Sunday) until the end of the month before they return to Ghana for the new campaign.
In Sudan, Kotoko will play a series of friendly matches against top sides as part of their preparations for the season ahead.
They’ll face the champions of Sudan Al Hilal Omdurman in one of those friendlies on Tuesday evening as part of their preparations.
Asante Kotoko will defend the GPL title they won last season in the upcoming campaign as well as compete in the FA Cup competition.
The Garden City club will also participate in the CAF Champions League competition next season and, they have been paired with Burkinabe champions RC Kadiogo in the preliminary round next month.
