Asante Kotoko Announce New Head Coach, Set To Win CAF Champions League And Ghana Premier League

Asante Kotoko have announced the appointment of Brukinabe trainer Seydou Zerbo as the new head coach of the club for one season with an option for a further year. Coach Seydou Zerbo replaces departed Prosper Ogum, after the latter sent an official resignation letter last week.

“We are delighted to Announce Burkinabè trainer, 𝑺𝑬𝒀𝑫𝑶𝑼 “K R O L“ 𝒁𝑬𝑹𝑩𝑶 as our new Head Coach for one season with an option for a further year. 𝑾𝑬𝑳𝑪𝑶𝑴𝑬 𝑻𝑶 𝑲𝑼𝑴𝑨𝑺𝑰.” Asante Kotoko wrote on their official social media page.

What will be the immediate targets assigned to the new coach?

Seydou Zerbo is taking over a club that is scheduled to play in 2022/23 CAF Champions League as well as other domestic assignments.

For the CAF Champions League, the new head coach could be tasked to win it, in an attempt to restore the glory of Asante Kotoko. If not winning it, he will be looking at placing the club in a dignified position such as semis final, quarter finals or group stages.

In the domestic matches, Asante Kotoko are set to defend the league title won last season, hence, it will a key target for Seydou Zerbo. FA Cup will also be around for the Burkinabe trainer to add it to domestic silverware.
