Managing editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt has reacted to the trending story in town about what Hopeson Adorye said in Kumasi during the ‘Adurowoso’ health walk.
In an interview on Pan Africa TV this morning, Kwesi Pratt made it clear that though what Hopeson Adorye said wasn’t right, it is what most people in the country believe in.Â
He explained and revealed that people who believe that every party must present at least a Muslim and a Christian as their flag bearers and running mates are saying the same thing that was said by Hopeson Adorye. He added that people who also believe that a flag bearer must have a female running mate are also speaking the same Language as Hopeson Adorye. He added that there is no assurance that if a Christian flag bearer selects a Muslim as his or her running mate, it will bring development into the country.
“We are hanging Hopeson Adorye for saying what everybody has said and what most people believe” he said
‘I think that we are being most unfair to Hopeson Adorye because the kind of analysis he does is done everywhere. Those who argue that you need a Muslim-Christian ticket fit in the same category as Hopeson Adorye. Those who argue that you need a female-male partnership to win an election fit into the same category. Those you believe that there should be a combination of a Northerner and a Southerner to win election also fit in same category. Yet today, we have all singled out Hopeson Adorye for lashing when indeed so many of us have the same view of politics” he stated.
He served a strong notice to party executives the NDC to stop ‘hanging’ Hopeson Adorye because that is what most people believe in Ghana.
