Revered Ghanaian International Icon, Noella Wiyaala popularly known by her second name Wiyaala has suggested that Female musicians are reigning along with the male ones in the Ghanaian music industry.
The singer had an extensive convo via a phone call with Upper East-based popular Media personality, Atanga Alex also known as Jah Bless on Yem Radio’s Hour in Bolgatanga on Saturday, August 20.
Wiyaala made a lot of captivating revelations during the interview and among her disclosures is her assertion that the Ghanaian music industry is ruled by both the male and female musicians.
She cited the late Ebony who became the first Ghanaian female artiste to win Artiste of the year at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Awards, won posthumously, and also herself who is doing amazingly well, rubbing soldiers with her male counterparts and many others who are also working assiduously, churning out great works.
Wiyaala was currently in the news for a citation of merit presentation brouhaha that stirred up during their performance at the SummerStage Festival in New York on August 13, 2022.
Citations of merit were supposed to be presented to them by the Bronx Borough President, Vanessa L. Gubson on stage but unfortunately, only Shatta Wale received his on stage and she was been told to go backstage for hers which she angrily declined and left the venue for her hotel.
However, a peace pipe was smoked and her management returned for the citation which was presented to them by a representative of the Bronx Borough President, Vanessa L. Gibson .
