A Kumasi based renowned reggae musician Mr Elvis Jackson Etuah (aka Papa Jay) has advised Ghanaians to stop blaming the President of the land, Nana Akuffo Addo over the current crisis confronting the country.
Instead he has asked Ghanaians to critically examine and check from their hearts on whether they have changed their mindsets to do the right things as responsible citizens to seek for the development of the country.
Speaking to the correspondent in an interview Jackson Etuah who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Modern Films And Entertainment Network conceded the fact that the country is touched down with economic hardships, it is not only Ghana alone which is suffering from the problems.
He said the crisis is of a global nature that link to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Russia and Ukraine war of which Ghanaians are aware of.
Papa Jay who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Unity Link Foundation posited that since the emergence of both the Covid-19 and the war the government of Nana Akuffo Addo have been playing its role to stabilize the economy but attitudes from certain citizens tend to resist it.
He cited unconstructive and unsubstantiated criticisms that tend to incite the citizenry against government hatred, deliberate increase in prices of goods food stuff, alleged bribery and corruptions in the high places, lawlessness attitudes among others as some examples that certain Ghanaians have allegedlv engage themselves in to counter government efforts to mend the economy.
The reggae musician noted that if Ghanaians are able to cooperate with the government at this crucial moment of global crisis and play their roles well no one would push blame on the government about the current situation the country finds itself.
Jackson Etuah said despite the several financial interventions that the government has channelled to encouraged people to help revive the country, the interventions tend to be in an opposite side.
The musician alleged that today instead of the citizens to move step forward to change their mindsets towards national developmental agenda, it is now time that people resort to illegal monetary gains and profiteering that have the tendency to set back the country from its economic gains.
We cannot blame the government over any economic crisis at the time we are not ready to change our mindsets to champion a common cause for our survival, Jackson Elvis Etuah concluded.
