Rivalry between residents of various hostels in our tertiary institutions becomes disgusting as time goes on. Even though money is hard to come by these days, some students do not think about this when they engage in clashes with others all in the name of hall tradition.
When it comes to rivalry between students in various hostels in the universities, four famous hostels come to mind. They are Commonwealth and Mensah Sarbah hall of the University of Ghana and Katanga and Continental hall of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
Just recently, there was a serious clash between the residents of Commonwealth and Mensah Sarbah hall in the University of Ghana which brought about brutal consequences. News coming in this morning and videos circulating online suggests Kantanga and Conti boys in a serious fight.
According to sources, the fight began because some of the Katanga boys tried to pass through the hostel of the Conti hostel to go to their hall. In the process of the Conti boys preventing the Katanga boys, the fight ensued.
Police officers came around to stop the fight but it got worser. In the end, peace was resolved but some of the students were injured.
