Professor Ransford Gyampo, a Political Lecturer at the University of Ghana, has told President Akufo-Addo that, he shouldn’t turn the whole Ghana into a prayer camp after NPP mocked President Mills for only turning the Castle Into a small Prayer Camp.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, 19th August 2022, he wrote;
“If you mocked President Mills for turning only the Castle into a small Prayer Camp, then you must abort your attempt to almost turn the whole country into a big Prayer Camp too. National Cathedral shouldn’t be a priority now, Mr President.”
Background
The comments of Prof Gyampo comes as a background to the building of National Cathedral by President Akufo-Addo. Many people have reacted that Ghana is in economic crisis and hence it’s not the right time to build a Cathedral. Others opines that it is a promise to God by the President and hence must be fulfilled for God to bless Ghana.
Reactions
“Cathedral can never be a priority now or ever. The person who authorized it must be charged with causing financial loss for breaking down buildings. There are many huge churches in Ghana. They are only finding ways to steal, and their words keep exposing them daily. These guys are simply treacherous, and milk our country dry without sympathy. I rest my case”. A user said.
“God have mercy on our country Ghana and let the will of Lord be accomplished.” A user commented.
