Pharmacist and Fellow of Ghana Centre For Democratic (CCD), Kwame Sarpong Asiedu has reminded Ghanaians that President Akufo-Addo called John Mahama to apologize to Ghanaians when the 1$ was GHC 3.81 and now should find the decency to do same.
In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, 19th August 2022, he wrote;
“The head of the economic management team said, “I worked in the Bank of Ghana, I know there is money, we don’t need to borrow to invest and develop.” Then under his watch, his Finance Minister borrowed and collateralized everything wrecking the economy in the process. Their boss the President asked former President Mahama to apologise to us when the US$1 was GHC3.81. I agreed with him then and still hold that view today.”
Dr. Kwame Aseidu Sarpong remarked that unfortunately, between these three talkatives, none has found the decency to even suggest an apology when today US$1 is Officially GHC9.75 (2.6 times more than when they asked for the apology). They rather wax lyrically about why their mess must be excused.
They cry about crisis the whole world is subjected to and use these as an excuse why our currency is last, yes, last in class. Do you see why we need to hold these talkatives and braggarts accountable for the mess we find ourselves in? He quizzed.
Whilst at it, their cronies have enriched themselves and recruited afosojas who hardly see or benefit from the largesse they swim in. Though I pity this lot, I have no sorrow for their obtused position.
“These guys spoke lots in opposition but have delivered zilch as a government. Rather, they have made us worse off and except plaudits. Sadly, they think they are the best the country ever seen by way of leadership. He’ll no, they don’t deserve any accolades. Talking plenty and delivering little must not be celebrated.” Kwame Sarpong concluded.
