Where And When Did Akufo-Addo Ask Alan To Wait? – News Editor Tackles Alan Campaign Message

Gordon Asare-Bediako, Abcnews Editor has tackled Alan Kyerematen’s Campaign message by asking that where and when did Akufo-Addo ask Alan to wait?

According to Gordon Asare-Bediako, he has trouble to thoroughly read the disclaimer from Hopeson Yaovi Adorye over the obvious faux pas and noxious comments about Northern politicians in the NPP being fit for only running mates slots.

He stated that in one of the paragraphs, Hopeson Adorye asked the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, why he is not willing to wait for Alan Kyerematen to become the flagbearer of the party since Akufo-Addo asked Alan to wait some years ago.

“Hopeson’s attempt to explain away or justify those reckless, irresponsible and reprehensible comments has produced another sets of lies. It is important to ask him these critical questions;

1. When did Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo ask Alan Kyerematen to wait?

2. Where did Nana Addo make such a statement?

Assuming without admitting that the statement was even made by Nana Addo in the past, it would beg another important question:

DID ALAN WAIT?

At which point in time did Alan Kyerematen not contest Akufo-Addo for the flagbearership race? For the avoidance of doubt, let me emphatically point out to Hopeson Adorye that in 2007, Alan contested Nana Addo and lost to him.

In 2011, Alan once again picked nomination forms and contested Akufo-Addo but lost, miserably. The story was no different in the 2014 presidential primaries of the party when Alan, once again, contested.

In the 2014 NPP Presidential primaries Nana Addo secured 117, 413 votes, representing 94.35 per cent, his close contender, Alan K. Kyerematen secured l5,908 representing 4.75% and Francis Addai Nimoh secured 1198 votes representing 0.91 per cent.

At which point in time did the party open nominations that Alan Kyerematen never picked nominations to go against Nana Akufo-Addo, assuming Hopeson’s claim is even true?

Hopeson should be a gentleman, issue an unequivocal apology for his unfortunate yet unfounded assertions he made as he led Alan Kyerematen’s health walk in Kumasi over the weekend.

The history he gave is empty. There is absolutely no truth in it. Akufo-Addo never asked Alan to wait and even if he did, Alan Kyerematen never paid heed to it. Hopeson should just do the honourable thing by apologizing to those in the Northern part of the country as well as members of the party across the country.
