Newly promoted side in the French Ligue 1, AJ Auxerre have confirmed the signing of former WAFA player, Gideon Mensah on a 3 year contract.
Gideon Mensah has enjoyed a good start to his career after having impressed in the Black Stars shirt during the just ended Afcon World Cup playoffs against Nigeria.
The player who can play both left back and centre back will join the French side and will wear the jersey number 14. The 24 year old had offers from multiple clubs across Europe but settled on AJ Auxerre who will guarantee him maximum game time this season.
Gideon Mensah will hope his performances will help his team stay in the French Ligue 1 this season. After making his debut for the national team, the player has gone on to make 11 appearances for the national team and is one of the notable names that will be present in Ghana’s squad for the world cup in Qatar this year.
