The first home game of the season for Chelsea following a narrow trip escape at Goodison Park against Everton was supposed to be an exciting moment at home ground but were denied their first win as Harry Kane wins points for Tottenham Hotspur in a 2-2 draw at the 90+6 minute in a most dramatic encounter.
A strong rival to the “Blues” winning 6 times out of their 25 trips to Stamford Bridge, Tottenham Hotspur with high momentum from their previous victory on a 4-1 score-line, were able to square off point although dominated less in possession [36%] and barely making it past Chelsea defence.
Chelsea, on the other hand, were fully geared up – dominated in possession [64%] in both halves, showed good ball controls, power, strength and a winning mentality.
A corner flick from Marc Cucurella set up a tumbling lead from Kalidou Koulibaly in the 19th minute before halftime.
At the 68th minute into the second half, Pierre-Emile Hojberg came with the equaliser after a possession lost from Jorginho in Chelsea’s half.
9-minute after was a re-establishment from Reece James from a possession regain through the assistance of Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane getting a point for Tottenham through a corner flick from substitute Ivan Perisic.
