Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Kwabena Agyapong has suggested to the football fraternity to cut down on the gate fees at Ghana premier league games.
The ex-sports journalist reckons at least, the gate fees should be reduced to 5ghc to make room for more fans to be able to patronize the games.
According to him, football fans in Ghana are not that rich therefore there is a need for the gate fees to be slashed for stadium attendance to be much more encouraging.
Speaking on Oyerepa TV, Kwabena Agyapong stressed it will be more beneficial to the clubs and the game to charge 5ghc and have more fans at the stadia than charge 20ghc to have fewer spectators.

“On the Ghana premier league, I think the gate fees should be slashed to as low as 5ghc, the popular stand which is 20ghc should be made 5ghc.
With this, there will be more fans at the stadium. It will be better to have the stadium full to capacity with a gate fee of GHC5 than GHC20 with fewer fans like only a thousand people there” He said.
