Reshuffling Will Bring Credibility To Government And Help Solve The Economic Crisis — Alex Segbefia

Reshuffling will bring credibility to government and help solve the economic crisis — Alex Segbefia

Mr. Alex Segbefia, former Deputy Chief of Staff in Prof. Mills’ administration has highlighted the importance of heeding calls for a ministerial reshuffle.

” president agrees to a ministerial reshuffle”, he claims, will help salvage the country’s battered economy and restore credibility to the government.

Commenting on the IMF bailout on Joy News’ PM Express on Wednesday, August 10, he expressed concern about the implications of allowing the same officials who caused the problem to participate in the IMF negotiations.

“Reshuffling brings on new faces and adds credibility, especially looking at the current economic crisis. Taking the same people who caused the problem to the negotiating table is worrying,” Mr. Segbefia said.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo on North Star Radio in Tamale on Monday, August 8 rejected calls to reshuffle his cabinet ministers.

There have been increasing calls for the President to reshuffle and fire underperforming ministers.

President Akufo-Addo dismissed such calls claiming his ministers have performed well.

He said those making the calls are attempts by the opposition NDC to destabilize his government.

“Many of them for me have done outstanding work. Their output has been considerable, and that is what I look at.

“ output measures expectations, then I don’t have any strong reasons to heed the call. The calls come for all kinds of reasons; NDC wanting to destabilise the government is one. There are people who are also looking for jobs,” the President stated.
