It is said that, people blame themselves for the purpose of being praised. On the other hand, according to a German proverb, to blame is easy ,to do it better is difficult.
It has been said time and again that, politicians should focus on fixing the problem and should not focus on the blame.
Interestingly, the NPP government were in the business of criticising the NDC government until Nana Addo won power.
After winning power, the NPP has started campaigning for the next elections and have dubbed their tactic as ‘breaking the eight’ years.
According to the Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, the call for ministerial reshuffle would not help the NPP government break the eight years. He explained that, to break the eight years, there must be an amplification of government’s physical works.
Should government continue to do more physical works at a time the inflation has reached 31.7 percent?
Won’t the approach of pumping more cash into the system increase the inflationary rate further? How should government improve the standard of living of the ordinary citizen?
The politician has also indicated that his party should not be blamed if the NPP fails to break the eight years.
Does this mean that Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye is not certain that the NPP has 100 percent chances of retaining power. His comment seem to create the impression that the NPP Regional is confident of a victory come 2024. In addition, why would the distinguished politician blame the government if the NPP fails to break the eight?
Is he saying that the government has failed to meet the standards set by the party? Is he not impressed with the economic and social development in the country? Should Abronye blame himself and the party if the NPP fails to breaks power?
Well, many Ghanaians have drawn meanings from the statements made by Abronye. Whilst some Ghanaians have indicated that he means that the government is making the party unpopular by its decisions ,there are other reactions.
Other Ghanaians have supported Abronye’s comments and have noted that the government is not helping the party faithfuls. Should neglecting party faithfuls cause the defeat of the NPP government?
What are your thoughts on the ongoing discussion?
