There was a wild jubilation at Akumfi West today, August 10th, 2022 as armed police men stormed and demolished a prostitutes brothel.
The assembly and district members in Akumfi had received numerous calls and complaints from residence of the area about how prostitutes mostly Nigerians actions are inflicting immoral, indecent, and problems in their small community. Most of the complaints were lodged by married women who claim prostitution in the area of late are causing huge marital problems in their homes. Some claims their husbands have refused to satisfy them sexually after these prostitutes set their abode in their community.
According to information from the ground, there are some ongoing galamsey in this community and hence the main target for the prostitutes were to satisfy the sexual desires of those galamseyers after work. But some married men have also taken advantage of the situation to sneak out and pay and sleep with these sex workers leaving their wives at home.
In an interview with some of the women, you could see clearly how bitterly most of them were complaining about the illegal activities of these prostitutes. Some claimed their marriages have been broken due to that whiles most of them also asserted that their husbands have refused to sleep with them for many days and months. They believe the sexual performances of the sex workers were exceeding theirs, hence their husbands don’t value them anymore when it comes to sexual pleasure.
Some women also expressed their fear of this prostitution activities considering the fact that there are many young girls and teenagers in the community of whom some of them have started also prostituting to get money from men.
A team of police men and some assembly members stormed the location earlier today and arrested some few present in the brothel and demolished the entire building completely in an attempt to curb prostitution in the area a little bit down.
Residence were indeed happy especially the married women and couldn’t thank the assembly and the police enough for attending to their pleadings and calls on time. They believe this will help save their marriages and also help their younger children not to be polluted and tempted to engage in this kind of activities in the near future.
