The early morning is unlike any other time of the day for its stillness and peace. There is a calmness between the hours of 5 and 6 in the morning that, when noticed, can dramatically change your life.
A year ago, I was unemployed, unsure of my future, and in between jobs. I felt a calling at this time in my life to get up early and meditate in order to get clarity on what to do next.
I forced myself out of bed every morning at 5.30am, wrapped myself in a blanket, and went to my meditation area. Some mornings were simple, but on other mornings I discovered that sitting still was simply ineffective, which inspired me to develop my own regular rituals.Â
I began to gain clarity and receive clear and strong messages about my purpose after only a few weeks of doing these rituals every morning for about 30 minutes. Throughout the day, I felt a lot more inspired and confident.
Whether you’re looking for clarity about your purpose, a relationship, or your life in general, implementing these 5 morning rituals that changed my life will also help you change your life—if I can do it, you can too. It was tried and true.
1. Awaken Early
It is important to choose the right time to perform these rituals because the energy present in the early hours of the morning is said to help stimulate creative flow, harmony, and peace.
All of these factors will assist you in better tapping into your purpose and clearing out any mental clutter that may be impeding you.Â
2. Meditate
Don’t worry, if the thought of sitting in lotus does not appeal to you, there are other options. While some mornings you may feel compelled to sit in silence, others may benefit from guided meditation.
You can sit in lotus position, lie down, or sit up with your back to a wall or propped up on a cushion. You don’t want to fall asleep again, but being comfortable is also important.
Start with 5–10 minutes of meditation if you’re just getting started, and work your way up from there.
3. JournalÂ
After you’ve finished your meditation, it’s time to start writing. I enjoy writing in a free-flowing manner, which simply involves starting out and letting whatever needs to come out.
Ask your Spirit Guides for help or Divine intervention with a specific problem by connecting with them. Vent all your concerns, tensions, and worries, and then picture giving your writings to God for care.
4. Set an Affirmation for the DayÂ
Create your own, or simply sit with a favorite affirmation or quote for a brief period of time. Perhaps even put it in writing and stick it somewhere you’ll see it frequently, like your car or desk at work. You can raise your vibration and improve your outlook on the day by repeating affirmations.
5. Stretch and Breathe
Stretch for 5 minutes in any pose that feels good to you. You can also do some sun salutations if you are familiar with yoga.
Remember to breathe deeply during your stretches, focusing on inhaling the good and exhaling anything that is no longer serving you.
Once you’ve become acquainted with these rituals, you can begin tweaking or changing them to suit your specific needs or lifestyle. But one thing is certain: performing these rituals for at least 30 minutes every day for 30 days will completely transform your life for success.
