Shake-up Hits the Leadership of National Security Apparatus of Ghana

A communique from the Office of the President signed by Eugene Arhin, the Director of Communications on Friday, 5 August 2022, affirm the reassignment and appointment of new leadership for National Security Apparatus. Major General Francis Adu-Amanfoh (retired) reassigned as the Special Advisor, Mr. Edward Asomani, Mr. Kwaku Domfeh and Nana Attobrah Quaicoe appointed as the National Security Co-ordinator, Ambassador-DR Congo, and Director General National Intelligence Bureau respectively.  

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reassigned the National Security Co-ordinator, Major General Francis Adu-Amanfoh to act as the Special Advisor to the President for the Accra Initiative with effect from Monday, 8th August 2022.

The President, in accordance with Section 20 (1) of the Security and Intelligence Agencies Act, 2020 (Act 1030), has appointed Deputy National Security Co-ordinator, Mr Edward Asomani to act as the National Security Co-ordinator, with effect from Monday, 8th August 2022.

Director General of the National Intelligence Bureau, Mr Kwaku Domfeh has also been appointed by the President as the Ambassador-designate to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The President also appointed the current Deputy Director-General of the National Intelligence Bureau, Nana Attobrah Quaicoe to act as the Director-General of the National Intelligence Bureau, with effect from Monday, 8th August 2022.
