His Excellency, the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has told Ghanaians that they will revive the economy and this is a solemn pledge he is making to Ghanaians.
Speaking at a state-sponsored program on Thursday August 4th, the president assured Ghanaians that he will ensure that he brings the country back on track of rapid growth as it were in his immediate 3 years when he took over office as a president.
He further noted that though the vision is blurr and things are looking hazy, he is optimistic and believes that the country has a bright future and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), will revive and revitalize the economy.
“I am confident that we will revive and revitalise the economy and put our nation back on the path of rapid economic growth.”
According to him, it is a pledge he is making to Ghanaians, and he will ensure that he does it as he remains resolute and optimistic about the country’s future.
In a news chanced on at citinewsroom.com, the president categorically said “This is a solemn pledge I am making to you. I remain resolutely optimistic about Ghana’s future, which I continue to believe is bright.”
The economy of Ghana has not been anything to write home about in these recent times as the cost of living has been very high and difficult with inflation rising to 29.8%, which is first in history. Citizens have to struggle to even endure the hardship.
This have compelled the government to run to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), for a bailout as things seemed to be getting out of hands.
Though talks with the IMF has not been completed as to whether they would support Ghana to bounce back or not, the president says he has high hopes that Ghana’s economy will be revived and revitalize again and he will see to it that it happens.
To Ghanaians, he says is a solemn pledge he is making to us.
