The confused, most inconsistent, incompetent and political robotic electoral commission in its recent decision to consider the Ghana card as the principal document to be used during 2024 General election will certainly end the 4th republic if care is not taking.
The Jean Mensa led electoral commission is obviously risking the survival of the 4th Republic on daily basis through her decisions to favour her political masters. I therefore call on all well meaning Ghanaians and lovers of the democracy to stand up against this danger looming at us. This is because, using Ghana card for the 2024 general election will polarise the electoral system more than we already have.
Infants who have the card will vote. But adults who does not have the Ghana card will be denied of their political rights of the universal adult suffrage. This will will inturn violate the article 42 of the 1992 constitution and therefore, it will be considered as unconstitutional and unlawful. And that’s where the agitation to end the 4th republican constitution will start.
It is practically impossible for every Ghanaian who have attained the voting age to obtain a Ghana card before, during and after the 2024 general election. So the decision of the EC to use the Ghana card instead of the traditional voters ID for the 2024 General election will certainly create alot of confusion, tension and problems. And if not handled well may dismantle the democracy we enjoy today for the birth of a 5th Republic.
The NDC is not ready to go to court again in this country to contest or challenge any electoral decision, but are prepared to resist oppressors rule with the last drop of our blood and nothing can stop us.
Jean Adukwei Mensa is a heartless woman, who does not think of how children and parents are likely to become refugees in other countries as she’s vent on mismanaging the 2024 election to favour the Npp against the will of the majority of the voters like she did in 2020.
I repeat, the NDC will waste no time in the law court this time. But will revisit and revive our revolution antecedents to stop any oppression and abuse. We have done it before in the past and we can do it better now.
We shall not sit aloof again this time for any state sponsored electoral malpractice to change the will of the people. Because the power of people is powerful together than those in power and we shall change the narrative should in case Jean Mensa repeat her incompetence and wickedness.
A word to the wise is enough.
Let our branch elections today continue to be peaceful as usual. I wish all aspirants the very best of luck across the country. Most especially my cherish people in Oti region. Let’s remember to be calm during and after the processes, for unity to prevail because we can only be powerful together!
