“I thought Nana Akufo-Addo wouldn’t tolerate this kind of ‘nonsense’ – Staunch NPP faithful fumes

A staunch faithful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has fumed at the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo over his silence on corrupt appointees.

According to staunch NPP faithful, Mr Nana Kofi Frimpong, in a panel discussion on kessben, the firm belief of Ghanaians about the President of the Republic that he is an anti-corruption soldier is being eroded.

He started that before the president came to public light as a politician from 1998 till he became the president in 2016, many have sought reasons and dig out his past years of political career but found nothing incriminating to tag him as corrupt. He lamented that he thought “the President wouldn’t tolerate any nonsense of corruption.”

Nonetheless he has expressed his huge disappointment in the failure of the president to address issues concerning his appointees that have been tag corrupt or probably not doing something right. He again noted that the president has also refused to sack government appointees that genuinely have faulted.

He lamented that a poster of the president is digging the grave of the New Patriotic Party and will harm them seriously when they start to campaign. He argued that if the president has refused to deal with his corrupt appointees, what explanation are they going to give Ghanaians if somebody an an issue against the NPP administration on corruption. He cited the example of former president mahama, John Agyekum Kufuor, and the late Former President Mills who sacked appointees over similar issues.

He cited the example of the issues raised about the National Ambulance Service Director and the fact that the President has failed to act. Expressing his shock at the silence of the President, he said thought the President would not tolerate this king of nonsense.

He stressed that since the issue is at the court, he doesn’t want to talk much on it, he from point of view, the first time heard if the issue, he knew the man will into trouble.
