I applaud Ghanaians’ spirit of perseverance- Prez

Ghanaians have been hailed for their resilience in the face of adversity by President Akufo-Addo.

Thursday’s Founders Day program featured President Akufo-Addo’s remarks, “I am proud of the can-do attitude of Ghanaians.”

Ghanaians, he claims, are resolved “not to be bucked down by events and enable the conditions and problems of today to build our collective destiny” despite the many hurdles they confront.

He listed various difficulties, protracted periods of unrest and military control by successive coups d’état and COVID-19.

Since our country’s declaration of independence 65 years ago, we have lamented that it has not achieved its enormous potential. southeast Asian nations like Korea and Malaysia, who attained independence about the same time as us yet have advanced beyond us in terms of development, are two examples. Despite all the challenges we had to overcome, he remarked.

Even if Covid-19 had a significant negative impact on the economy, the Russia and Ukraine war, in his opinion, made things worse. But “administration has detailed a number of actions requesting the IMF’s aid in the short term to help rebuild our finances,”

“We will restore and reinvigorate the nation back on the path of economic progress,” President Akufo-Addo promised.
