Asante Kotoko Supporter Saves Ghana Premier League Teams With A Bumper Deal

Renowned afro-pop musician and shareholder for betPawa Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, also known as Mr. Eazi, has revealed how his admiration for Asante Kotoko led to the sponsorship package between Ghana Football Association and betting firm betpawa. He added that new sponsors of the Ghana Premier League expect both parties of the deal to benefit from it.

“At betPawa, we believe in support for the local game and sports development. It is in that spirit and I being a Kotoko fan, we decided to come on board.”We are looking forward to a prosperous mutual benefit partnership.” He remarked during the official announcement.

Betpawa has entered into an agreement with the Ghana Football Association to sponsor the Ghana Premier League as headline sponsor for three years. The three year is worth $6 Million.

Each year goes for $2 Million with betpawa scheduled to build a pitch at Prampram beginning October this year.

The deal also comes with bonuses for clubs that will win matches in the Ghana Premier League. The new package is expected to cushion clubs in terms of financial preparations ahead of the imminent season.

Whereas the amount is anticipated to be shared equally among all teams, Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko have petitioned the Ghana Football Association for greater share of the financial package, according to reports in the local media.
