Host of New Day show on TV3, Johnnie Hughes has once again served another notice to the government of Ghana.
Speaking on TV3 this morning, Johnnie Hughes seemed worried about the number of holidays the country observe each year. He added that the country loses a lot of money anytime there is a holiday.
Johnnie Hughes revealed that some of the holidays should be canceled but should only be observed by the citizens at their various work places. He added that the country needs a lot of revenue, yet government keeps doing things that prevent them from generating income.
He went ahead to reveal that he was in town on Tuesday to ask some Ghanaians whether they know the reason why Thursday is a holiday. He added that none of the persons he asked was able to give him the answer he was expecting. This means not all citizens really get the meaning of most of the holidays in the country.
Aside this. Johnnie Hughes revealed that strike action by public sector workers also reduces the income level of the government. He is therefore urging the government to do the needful and make sure that there are few holidays in the system and also workers are being treated well in the country.
