Former Ghana Sprinter, Kweku Nimako, has lashed his anger on the decline of sporting glory most emphatically on athletics.
Nimako, who represented Ghana on various athletics events, believes administrators of the nation’s athletics have been poor and done little in helping athletes across the country.
“Athletics has declined, sports in Ghana general has declined”, he stated.
“When I was an athlete, it got to a time, some I see athlete jog all the way from chorkor, to the stadium at El-Walk”.
“I saw athletes coming from Korle Gonno, mamobi and others on foot to come and train. After they jog back because they don’t have what it takes to train. But the guys were killing themselves for the country”, he emphasized.
Nimako, questioned the longevity of some administrators within the federation.
“We have a serious problem in Ghana Athletics Association. Bawah Fuseini has been there for 12years, with no adding up anything to the federation.
Can you imagine, who will be in position for 12years in this country? Not even the President of Ghana.
And this is not a private institution”, he stressed.
