The National Democratic Congress, member of Parliament for North Tongu, Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa, has finally expressed his happiness over the decision of the government to extend the deadline for sim re-registration.
Mr. Okudzeto has been a staunch critic of the NPP administration, almost criticizing every move and decision of the government. Surprisingly, today, after the Minister of Communication and Digitisation Madam Ursula Owusu, made the announcement of the extension of the deadline to September 30th 2022, Mr Okudzeto was quick to respond to the decision of the government stating that I commend the government for extending the deadline for the same re-registration.
However he noted that the government have to take immediate steps to address the issues of the Ghana card.
Me Okudzeto said “I commend government for extending the deadline for the SIM card re-registration exercise. It’s now time to immediately fix the avoidable bottlenecks with Ghana Card issuance and the needless ID rigidity. With adequate consultation, it’s possible to end the stress and chaos.”
That is a good sign from the Honourable member of parliament as one must not just criticize but to give credit where credit is due.
