Today, July 31, 2022 was one of the anticipated day. The Minister of Communications, Ursula Owusu Ekuful had stated that sims cards that had not been linked to the numbers will be blocked. This created so much brouhaha because many feared that their numbers will be locked. Others jubilated because they were owing their network providers.
According to Ursula, the new deadline will be September 30 but interestingly added that all SIM users who fail to register by August ending will not be able to use some services. During the questions time, an elderly man stood and said that there have been calls from some people saying they will sue Ursula if she blocks SIMs. The journalist wondered what the Minister will do if she is sued after blocking SIMs.
In a swift answer the Minister attacked the NDC and boldly told Ghanaians not to follow the NDC because the party is bound to lead many astray as they have done with other projects already. She encouraged all to register their SIMs to avoid it being blocked.
“Massa, I have told you. Don’t listen to them. They did the same thing with health insurance, what happened to it? They said people shouldn’t register for health insurance. If you listened to them how would it have benefitted, you. They did the same for Ghana card. Don’t listen to the NDC. If you listen to the NDC on any issue it is at your own peril,” Ursula said
