The vice president of Ghana of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has finally reacted to his recent statement of saying that he will choose a Ghana Card over thousand interchanges..
In a new video posted on his Facebook page, Dr. Bawumia revealed that some Ghanaians thought that he was crazy to say that a Ghana Card is better than thousand interchanges.
“A few weeks ago, not too long, I was touting how important the Ghana Card, the identification system that we have put in place in Ghana. And I even said that this for me at this stage of our development, I will prefer this to thousand interchanges. You can imagine the furious this caused. This man [wabodam anaa]” he said
According to him, he still stand by his words. He explained his reason and revealed that the Ghana Card has given the country a lot of money than before. He added that several ghost names have been cleared from just two key institutions in Ghana.
He made it clear that with the Ghana Card, 85% of Ghanaians have a bank account. He added that the Ghana Card is one of the biggest achievement by this administration.
