The president of IMANI Africa, Mr. Franklin Cudjoe, has stated that president Nana Akufo-Addo is a conservative traditionalist “who doesn’t want to rock his boat even when the ship is not entirely working.”
The statement of Mr. Franklin Cudjoe was in response to the late response of the president of the Republic to the sacking of the Minister of Gender and Children Protection. He noted that the revocation of Adwoa Sarfo’s Ministerial position was long overdue. He stressed that though the president doesn’t like to rock his boat even when it is not working, this time around, it has taken too long as some members of the new patriotic party have bitterly complained about it.
Me Franklin Coudjo said, “It appears to me that the presidency has taken the view that the Ministry probably did not matter at all, and so now that there have been conversations in Parliament to either remove her or not, it looks as if that is what has impacted the president to relieve her of her post finally.
He again added that “The President is more of a conservative traditionalist who doesn’t want to rock his boat even when the boat is not entirely working, but on this particular count, I think a lot of people have complained even from his party.”
