Former Manchester City and Barcelona star Yaya Toure is set to join Tottenham’s academy coaching staff on a permanent basis. As reported by the Evening Standard, Toure has been given a full-time position at Spurs after joining the London club on a part-time basis in December.
Toure has been a coach since his playing career came to an end in 2019. Since then, he’s been the assistant manager at Ukrainian outfit Olimpik Donetsk and Russian club Akhmat Grozny. He left the latter position in December, shortly before joining Tottenham. Toure has been working with the club’s youth team on a part-time basis since December, while Defoe has begun the next phase of his career after retiring from competitive action in March.
Both former players have worked with Tottenham to obtain coaching badges, and the Evening Standard reports that Defoe and Toure are set to be given permanent contracts with the academy to further their development. Yaya Toure said, he is going to give out all his best in order to reach the highest peak. Follow me for more updates.
