It seems the nature of Ghanaians is that you are remembered well when you give up the ghost and the adage of the elders tell us “Good persons don’t live long.” The late Professor John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills was known as the father of all and recognized around the world for his peaceful nature.
Prof Mills was a humble and very simple man and He didn’t have time to witch-hunt anybody even when he had the power to do so. Professors are generally people who are decision-makers and all they care about is solutions. Solutions to poverty, healthcare, joblessness, etc. Leadership is about identifying problems and fixing them and the leader did just that.
It is 10 years now since the departure of our late president prof Mills, we can’t forget him, still remember a word he said “we should not allow Ghana to die, Ghana will not die” that was one meaningful message from the late president to Ghanaians.
The whole country was in turmoil as the announcement was made. Nonetheless, an act that showed that he was indeed a father for all was when he allowed a little girl to sit on his presidential chair.
Late Prof Mills is still our humble president and a peaceful man we can still remember and learn from. Late Prof Mills may his Soul Rest in Peace.Â
